Ingredients:
- 10 Indian gooseberries (nelli)
- 20 betel leaves
- 1 handful of coriander leaves
- 1 handful of curry leaves
- 4 dried red chilies
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of long pepper
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Extract the juice from the Indian gooseberries after removing the seeds.
- Finely chop the curry leaves, coriander leaves, and betel leaves.
- Dry roast dried red chilies, chopped garlic, and slightly crushed long pepper and cumin seeds in a pan until light brown.
- Add the chopped curry leaves, betel leaves, coriander leaves, and turmeric powder to the pan and sauté.
- Grind the sautéed mixture into a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the ground paste.
- Add the Indian gooseberry juice and water to the pan and simmer.
- Add salt to taste and remove from heat before it boils.
